A Taste of Honey- Day 4

Shabbat Shalom to everyone! Our day started a little later, for us to all get some much needed rest. We traveled south to Timna, for the main hike of the day. On the way there, we made a quick stop to Ramon, where we got to stand on the edge of a massive crater.

Ramon
“The wilderness and dry land will be glad. The desert will rejoice and blossom like a lily. It will blossom profusely…” (Isaiah 35:1-2)
Timna, probably a place in the desert the Israelites walked through on their way to Canaan. We took a short hike through the massive rocks, and learned about the wedding that took place at Sinai.
Numbers 9:17-23.
I now have more respect for the Children of Israel spending 40 years in the wilderness.

One of the best things about the trip so far was visiting the tabernacle replica in Timna. There were so many parallels and beautiful pictures of what Christ is for us and God’s plan of salvation— evident already in the Old Testament.

We spent the evening by the Dead Sea.

He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:10-12
