Hear O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone, love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might! And love your neighbor as yourself.
We say these verses twice a day, as we begin our day and as we end it. It is known in the Jewish world as the ‘Shema’.
Wadi Zin at En Avdat National Park was our first stop of the day. It was located about an hour and a half south of Jerusalem in the Negev Desert.
Psalm 36:7 How good is your loving mercy, O God! the children of men take cover under the shade of your wings.
Israel is chasing back the desert. I should be getting used to it by now but the dark green vegetation in the middle of nowhere (or so it seems) still takes me by surprise.
At Tel Arad, we had a lesson in the remains of the temple. This section was towards the back, where the high priest would sit.
While at the temple, we discussed God’s plan for us to be priests in his kingdom. (Exodus 19:6, 1 Peter 1:9).
We have now come to the end of the third day, and our hearts and minds are full. There is so much to process! It is such a blessing to be able to be in the land where God lived among his chosen people; but even more, it is a blessing to have the privilege of being adopted into His family.
God bless you all as you enjoy the land of the Bible! You are stirring my thirst for the land
