The house of bread, Bethlehem, is where the bread of the world was born! So today we headed to Efrat, by Bethlehem, and learned about baking bread in the Middle East.
Here we patted out the dough, making little round and flat cakes of bread with seasonings.
There it is. Ready for the fire to be applied.
Then, we were taught on how bread and grains were used in the ancient days(and even today). The Jewish faith revolves around the land, their crops, seasons, and family. God used these things in His Torah and gave guidelines for caring for their land and family life. It’s healthy, reasonable and very good!
Fire was applied. Ah… It is so picturesque!
The fruits of our labor filled the room with a delicious smell! And it tasted as good as it smelled! Add a little olive oil and it’s a perfect melt-in-your-mouth combination.
The rest of the day was spent in the Old City, shopping and visiting the Garden Tomb.
We all made friends and enjoyed the people.
The streets. Lined with shops just waiting for tourists.
